Deemed resident or non-resident
I have a client, his wife left Canada and worked in another country for many years, including most part of the 2018. She quit her job and returned to Canada in April 2019 with the intention to stay. Client's wife already filed her annual tax return and paid taxes in foreign country. Husband and kids are Canadian residents and live in Canada. They purchased a house in November 2018 and rented a portion out.
Question: Is wife considered a non-resident or deemed resident? Does she has to file taxes again in Canada for 2018?
Many thanks in advance!
