Access violation at address 0048B99C in module "Profile.exe". What is the root cause?

The clients are working in a 2012R2 RDS environment. The issue occurred for only a single user at the moment, however I restrict their access to Task Manager so they can't stop the Profile application themselves and are therefore locked with this error on the screen. I ended the profile application for her in my admin session and she was able to immediately open Profile again and just like the linked article, went immediately in and was able to see all the previous entries and use the Tape again, successfully this time.

12 other users were unaffected by this error and continued to work fine while the user with the error worked with me on resolving it, so the issue is most definitely nothing related to the core installation files.

I find the second reply from Intuit on the linked article not helpful and am interested in a technical support representative to give me a properly technical answer.
