Resolved: March 25th: CRA service interruptions (EFILE and AFR)

UPDATE: 

CRA's recent interruption has ended and services are now operational. The "service interruption notice" has been removed from CRA's "EFILE News" page and the following has been posted on the CRA Twitter feed:

" The computer hardware issue has been fixed and our online services are up and running. Thanks for your patience."

" Our online services has been fixed. Please try again. "

T1 and T2 users are encountering a technical difficulty message when accessing EFILE services. 

T1 EFILE error messages may appear as follows:

  • "The Canada Revenue Agency is experiencing high volumes of transmissions and is unable to process your return at this time. Please try again in a few minutes."
  • "The Canada Revenue Agency is experiencing technical difficulties and is unable to process this return at this time."

T1 AFR error messages may appear as follows:

  • "Error 500, internal server error."

The issue has been identified by CRA and they are working to resolve it as soon as possible.
